What is the Road Trip Pass (RTP)?
The Road Trip Pass is an annual membership that enhances your experience on bugeme.travel
With an active pass, you can:
Save 20% at participating tourism businesses
Save searches, trips, and itineraries
Return to your ideas as you travel
Receive more personalized discovery over time
The map itself is free to explore. The pass unlocks savings and account features.
How much does the Road Trip Pass cost?
The Road Trip Pass costs $99 CAD and is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Why should I buy a Road Trip Pass?
Most travelers buy the pass for one (or more) of three reasons:
Savings – 20% at participating businesses can add up quickly
Planning – save and organize your road trip ideas in one place
Continuity – return to your searches and discoveries over time
It’s designed for flexible travel, not fixed itineraries.
Is the Road Trip Pass worth it?
That depends on how you travel.
If you plan to enjoy activities, tours, or experiences during your trip, many travelers recover the cost of the pass in just a few uses — and then continue saving for the rest of the year.
The pass is valid for 12 months, so it can be used across multiple trips.
How do I find participating businesses and their offers?
All tourism businesses are shown on the BUGMe map.
Participating businesses are clearly marked on the map
Each business listing shows:
Their principal offering
Whether they offer Road Trip Pass savings
What the savings apply to
You can also click the ‘offers’ button to show only participating businesses.
How do I use my Road Trip Pass to receive savings?
To receive savings at a participating business:
Make sure your Road Trip Pass is active
Inform the business that you have a Road Trip Pass before booking or purchasing
Show your active pass when you arrive or check in
How do I “show my active pass”?
Upon booking, you may inform the business of your pass by sharing yoru email address or pas ID #
Upon arrival You may present your digital Road Trip Pass (downloaded into your digital (smartphone) wallet
Your membership purchase day may also be access in your account: www.bugme.travel/mypass
What does the 20% savings apply to?
The savings apply to a business’s principal activity only.
For example:
A rafting company offers 20% off rafting, but not photos or merchandise
A tour company offers 20% off the tour, but not souvenirs or add-ons
Savings do not apply to:
Already discounted or group-rate offerings
Add-ons, upgrades, or extras
Items restricted by law (such as alcohol)
The principal activity of participating businesses are described in their business listing on the map. However, if you’re unsure, you’re welcome to confirm directly with the business.
Are there limits to how often I can use my pass?
No.
You may use your Road Trip Pass as many times as you like while it is active.
How long is my Road Trip Pass valid?
Your pass is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
You can always check your expiration date in your account under My Pass.
Can I buy a Road Trip Pass and use it immediately?
Your pass becomes active shortly after purchase.
However:
It cannot be applied retroactively
It cannot be applied to bookings made before the pass was active
It cannot be applied at the time of booking
We recommend purchasing the pass before booking experiences.

Can I share my Road Trip Pass with others?
Road Trip Passes are non-transferable.
That said:
You may include friends or family in a booking
The pass holder must be the person making the booking
The pass holder must be present at the experience
You do not need to personally participate in the activity.
Do all businesses on the map offer savings?
No.
BUGMe is designed to be a complete discovery map, not just a discount list.
Some businesses choose to participate in the Road Trip Pass program, while others are listed for discovery only. Participating businesses are clearly marked. (‘offers’ button)
Is Don’t BUGMe I’m On Vacation a booking website?
No.
BUGMe is a discovery and referral platform. All bookings, payments, changes, and refunds for experiences happen directly between you and the business.
There is no middleman.
How do I contact a business listed on the map?
Click on a business pin on the map to view their website and contact details.
Do I need a Road Trip Pass to use the map?
No.
Anyone can search and explore the BUGMe map.
A Road Trip Pass is required to:
Save trips and itineraries
Return to saved searches
Receive savings at participating businesses
How do I save trips and itineraries?
Saving trips and itineraries is available to Road Trip Pass holders.
Once logged in, you can save places and return to them later from your account under My Trips.
What if I don’t have cell service while traveling?
We recommend:
Saving your digital Road Trip Pass to your smartphone wallet
Logging into your account before you head out
Having your My Pass screen ready to show
Some travelers choose to take a screenshot of their active pass as a backup.
Can I get a refund if I don’t use my pass?
Road Trip Passes are generally non-refundable.
This helps prevent misuse and keeps the system fair for participating businesses. In exceptional circumstances, refund requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
What if a participating business doesn’t honor the savings?
If a business listed as participating does not honor an active Road Trip Pass as described, please contact us so we can follow up.
How can I leave feedback or share my experience?
